Entrust People is raising money for the Romanian charity Light into Europe by running the Loch Ness Marathon later this month. The
marathon, on the 29th of September, will begin on the scenic south-eastern shores of Loch Ness and continue across the River Ness into the centre of Inverness.
The IT and clinical resourcing company, based in the North East of Scotland, chose to fundraise for Light into Europe after Senior Resourcing Consultant, Samantha Brown, spent some time in Romania last year.
Samantha said: “During my stay in Romania I came across Light into Europe and decided to volunteer with them. I was completely bowled over by the charity, the work that founders Stan and Camelia Platt carry out really is tremendous. They dedicate their lives to helping sensory impaired children in Romania who without their help would have little or no quality of life and prospects.”
Founded in 1986, Light into Europe helps children and young people in Romania who are sight and/or hearing impaired. The charity works hard to improve the children’s lives, helping them to expand their possibilities and to become active and accepted members of the Romanian society.
Samantha continued: “This will be my first time running a marathon, so I am a bit nervous but very excited! I’ve been busy training for the past eight weeks and have plenty more running to do before the big day! I’ve been really enjoying training so far and can’t wait to get running on the day to raise some funds for this very worthy cause.”
