Entrust People Recruit Support for Charity Race
14 May 2014

Samantha Leeman, Entrust’s Senior IT Resourcer is currently working towards her biggest recruitment challenge – trying to recruit as many sponsors as possible ahead of the Baker Hughes 10k Run this Sunday 18th May at the Aberdeen Beach.

Sam, who has been working at Entrust People, the specialist resourcing partners, for two years has been training for the race for the past few months with regular Saturday morning runs at Aberdeen Parkrun as well as her current gruelling training schedule for Tough Mudder later this year.

Although Sam has been running 10k’s since 2009, and last year ran the Loch Ness Marathon, this year means a lot to Sam as she will be running the 10k for an Entrust contractor who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Inspired by the brave and can do attitude of her candidate, Sam chose to raise money for CLAN Cancer Support, the independent Aberdeen charity that supports those affected by cancer.

Sam commented, “It was such a shock and really sad to hear about my candidate, who I had placed and built a good working relationship with. As soon as I heard I knew I wanted to do something for her, and with my passion for running it seemed like a great opportunity to raise money for a cancer charity that she feels close to. The company that I placed her with have also been very supportive and have helped me raise well over my target sponsorship – however any more sponsors would be greatly received!”

Having run the race in 56.46 minutes last year, Sam is keen to beat her personal best and raise a fantastic amount for the worthwhile charity.
